Chronograph Hand-Wound

Chronograph Hand-Wound

The Farer Bernina Chronograph Hand-Wound is the official timing watch of the 2019 Bernina Gran Turismo – an iconic race across the famous Bernina pass in the Swiss Alps. Pitting a diverse selection of race classic heavyweights over a breathtaking 5.7 kilometre hill climb, celebrating the spectacular races that were held on the mountain roads around St Moritz back in the 1920s and ‘30s.

Time to Race

The spirit of travel and adventure is at the heart of the Farer ethos, which is why we’re proud to be the official timekeeping watch of the Bernina Gran Turismo 2019.

Bold is Beautiful

The sports collection celebrates the unmistakable Farer characteristics of bold British design and contemporary aesthetics. The beautiful tri compax dial construction is the result of hours of testing, pushing at the limits of today's technology. The fresh colour combinations of the dials – in both light and dark palettes, with multiple material finishings and techniques – deliver an exacting finish and an easy-to-read display of elapsed times at speed. The creative application of Super-LumiNova Grade A across the dials adds a further dimension to their beauty at night.

Distinctive Profile

Machined for high-precision use, the elegant case is made of high-grade 316L stainless steel, with a polished bezel edge, circular-brushed top, horizontal-brushed sides and set against a highly-polished back. Measuring 43mm lug-to-lug and 12.9mm in height – with a dial aperture that's pushed to 31mm beneath the box cased crystal – the result is a watch with an arched silhouette that sits snugly on the wrist, whilst wearing larger in reality. The capped recessed pushers in polished 316L steel are matched by a steel crown, with a Farer bronze cap completing the sporty design.

Modern Hand-Wound

Through the flat sapphire crystal case back, you’ll see a hand-wound and Swiss-made SELLITA SW510 BH Elaboré grade movement – in itself, a promise of exceptional quality and reliability. An exacting piece at just 7mm depth and with an impressive 58 hours power reserve, it's a movement built for today’s demanding use. The beautifully detailed movement also has a skeleton framework, perlé finishing, blue screws on the main plate – and has been intricately customised on the high end bridge with an engraved Farer monogram chequered sports pattern.
