Will a credit search take place?

Yes, Klarna will perform a credit check. This can affect your credit score depending on which payment option you choose in the checkout.

As a responsible lender, Klarna want to ensure they’re helping you make the right financial decisions for your circumstances. When a credit check is performed, Klarna verify your identity using the details you provided and look at information from your credit report. Depending on the payment option you choose, Klarna may perform different types of searches and checks to assess your financial standing:

A soft credit check is performed when you apply for Klarna's Buy Now Pay Later options which will not affect your credit score. However, as a responsible lender, Klarna shares data about your payments to credit reference agencies which are visible to other lenders.

A hard credit check will be conducted when applying for Financing – this may affect your credit score.

Klarna's credit checks are performed by the credit reference agencies Transunion & Experian. If you have questions regarding their services, your credit score, or the data provided as part of a credit check, contact the credit reference agencies directly. Credit checks are performed in accordance with Klarna’s Terms & Conditions.

What do I need to provide for purchase?

If you want to make a purchase with Klarna you need to provide your name, address, email address and mobile phone number. For some orders you may need to provide your date of birth, too. All information will be sent to your email address, including payment reminders and links to your online statements. It's very important that you give us the correct details, as otherwise you will not receive the payment information.

How do I make a payment?

First, log in at and visit your Klarna Account overview page. Then, simply select ‘Make a payment’ and enter the amount you wish to pay towards your balance. Should you have any questions or concerns when making a payment you can contact Klarna’s Customer Service.

Is my payment information safe?

Payment information is processed securely by Klarna. No payment information is transferred to us or held by us. All transactions take place via connections secured with the latest industry standard security protocols. You can remove your linked bank account or card at any time

How do I manage my Klarna account?

How is my monthly statement sent?

If you chose to use Klarna, you will receive your monthly statement notification via email with instructions on how to make a payment and an overview of your Klarna Account. Once you have landed on your Klarna Account overview page, simply select ‘Make a payment’ and enter the amount you wish to pay towards your balance.
