The Venture blends metallic blues and a soft, crackled texture to create a watch that’s filled with intricate details. To achieve the Venture’s unique look, the dial is first pressed to give it its texture, then it is painted multiple times to create a smoky colour gradient that draws the eye towards the dial’s centre. A clear lacquer is then applied to the dial and polished to a glossy finish. As a result of this time-consuming process, the hour markers appear to float over the dial. They’re made from Lumicast, a blend of ceramic and Super-LumiNova, and are among the thinnest shapes ever to utilise the material. The pencil hands are painted a gloss blue and are also filled with Grade X2 Super-LumiNova. For a final touch, the blue seconds hand features a peach-coloured Farer ‘A’.
FEATURES
Tantalising Textures - The dial is a complex blend of colours and textures crafted using a multi-stage process. First, the pattern is pressed onto the dial. Then it is painted with layers of different colours to create rich shades and gradients. Next, it's coated in a clear lacquer that's then polished to a mirror finish. The result is a dial that has a unique depth and richness that’s truly captivating.
Weekend Warrior - The watch is powered by a La Joux-Perret G101 movement. This automatic Swiss calibre comes with an impressive 68-hour power reserve. It is finished to La Joux-Perret's "soignée" standard, the highest grade of their calibre, which is adjusted to 4 positions.
Night Light - Not only are the hands filled with luminous Grade X2 Super-LumiNova, but the applied batons are moulded from solid blocks of X2 Super-LumiNova. Together, these provide unparalleled legibility in the dark.
Crystal Clear - The watch dial is protected by a domed box sapphire crystal, which has an internal anti-reflective coating. There is also a sapphire exhibition glass on the watch's rear.
Hydrophobic - The Venture is water-resistant to 100m thanks to a screw-down crown and a monobloc construction mid-case which incorporates the movement holder into the main body of the case, rather than as a separate piece.
STORY
The Venture takes its name from the English ship the Edward Bonaventure. In 1553, the ship was one of three that set out to find a northeastern passage to the Far East and the lucrative mercantile opportunities it held. The Edward Bonaventure became separated from the other two ships during a storm and, continuing onward alone, eventually anchored near the mouth of the Dvina River. Whilst here, the crew made contact with the locals, who then took them to meet their ruler. Their monarch in question was Ivan the Terrible, the first Tsar of all Russia, and this meeting led to the establishment of diplomatic relations between England and Russia for the first time.
