GOING FOR GOLD
In a first for Farer, this latest version of the Lethbridge brings a golden glow to the Cushion Case collection. The metallic dial is champagne in colour, with the satin-finished raised ring that gives the cushion case watches their signature sector dial look. Onto this ring are mounted polished Arabic numerals, finished in yellow gold PVD, as is the slim dauphine handset. Contrasting against the warm tones on the rest of the dial is the sunken silver ring of the sub-seconds dial, which adds more detail with a crisp engine-turned finish. The warm tones of yellow gold used throughout the dial are further enhanced by the yellow gold PVD finish of the case. This is the first time Farer has used the coating on any of its watch cases, and it enhances the classical feelings exuded by the golden dial. PVD is the ideal method to achieve a gold finish, as it provides the same rich lustre as solid gold, but with the added hardness provided by the base coating of titanium nitride used in the PVD process. This also ensures that the case is protected against corrosion and tarnishing.
The monochrome colouring of the dial draws attention to the blend of brushed, polished and satin finishes, as well as the varying heights of each dial element. As a result, the Lethbridge Gold is the perfect example of how subtle textures and a well-composed layered dial can create an incredibly sophisticated watch that seamlessly blends both classic and contemporary styles.
Features
Sector Dial - The watch features a sector dial design, with the hour markers mounted onto a raised ring with a contrasting texture to the main dial.
Curvaceous Comfort - The cushion case sits comfortably on any wrist, with a thickness of only 10.5mm and a compact lug-to-lug of 43.8mm.
Manual Drive - The watches in the Cushion Case collection are powered by Swiss hand-wound mechanical movements with custom decoration, which can be viewed through a sapphire case back.
STORY
Named after Grace Marguerite, Lady Hay Drummond-Hay (née Lethbridge), a British explorer and journalist. In August 1929, she became the first woman to travel around the world by air (in a LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin airship). She was the only woman among the 60 male passengers and crew. Although she was not an aviator herself at first, she contributed to the glamour of aviation and general knowledge of it, by writing articles about her aerial adventures for US newspapers in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

If you look up the definition of elegance, you will find that it means “pleasingly ingenious and simple.” That is the Lethbridge in a nutshell.→
At 38.5mm wide with short, curved lugs, the Mansfield’s fully polished case sits perfectly on the wrist, relatively small and elegant, in a cool, distinctly modern way.→
